Projects & Campaigns
Dream Equal
Inspired by my personal experiences and motivated by those around me I founded Dream Equal when I was 16 years old. In doing so, I hoped to combat the gender-based issues I faced growing up. While researching for ways to take action against gender inequality, I came across many unaddressed issues within the current gender equality movement and decided to found Dream Equal to confront those issues. The organization was originally created to serve my hometown of Lincoln, Nebraska but, after much demand, on January 1, 2020 Dream Equal launched globally with the resources for people to start a movement anywhere in the world that they are based.
Dream Equal is now a global youth-led organization with 31 chapters in 11 US states, 14 countries, and 5 continents. The organization is revolutionary, tackling gender inequality in ways no one has ever done before with intersectionality at its core.
One Up Action
One Up Action was built when a group of powerful young community leaders and I realized that just participating in climate strikes, rallies, and legislative advocacy wasn’t enough to solve the climate crisis. In order to see a true impact, we must take the energy from the strikes and other grassroots actions and put it back into directly improving our planet. Kevin J. Patel and I founded One Up Action with the goal of creating a platform in which marginalized young people and adults alike could learn how to effectively take direct action in their own communities to combat the climate crisis when people in positions of power are not.
Girls' Education
It’s a proven fact that when you educate girls, families and communities thrive, progress faster, and are healthier and safer. Yet, over 130 million girls worldwide are out of school for reasons ranging from cultural stigma to child marriage. That’s why I’m proud to work with Girl Up, an initiative hosted at the United Nations Foundation, to raise awareness to these issues, advocate for change, and support UNHCR and UN Women programs that help increase access to girls’ education.
